Approval means a product meets the standards needed to be installed with government small-scale technology certificates (STCs). It isn't a recommendation, and Energy Quotes doesn't rank products. Check the manufacturer's datasheet and ask your installer before you buy.

Discounts are indicative: certificates for the usable capacity at the rate for today's date, at $38 each. Your installer's quote shows the actual amount. Work it out for your date and size.

About Soltaro

Soltaro was established in Australia in 2016 and designs, manufactures and engineers energy storage systems for homes and businesses, including the AIO2 all-in-one battery. It also sells heat pumps, air conditioning and EV chargers, and has support lines in Australia and the UK.

Range in Australia
The Soltaro AIO2 is an all-in-one battery and inverter for homes and small businesses, available in 5 kWh or 10 kWh and expandable to more than 30 kWh. It uses lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) cells and can be AC or DC coupled.
Backup power
The AIO2 has an Emergency Power Mode that can use your solar panels and battery during a blackout, charging the battery by day while supplying the house.
Warranty
Soltaro states a 10-year or 10,000 charging cycle warranty for the AIO2 on-grid range. Products must be registered to validate the warranty.
Contact in Australia
Soltaro's Australian support line is 1300 276 582, and technical issues can be logged online through its support portal.

Choosing a Soltaro battery installer

  • Accreditation: the installer must be accredited by Solar Accreditation Australia (SAA) for batteries, or the battery won't qualify for the federal discount. Ask for their accreditation number.
  • The exact model: check the quoted Soltaro model is on the approved list above, with its usable capacity in kWh.
  • The inverter: Soltaro makes inverters too. Ask whether the battery is paired with a Soltaro inverter or a compatible one from another brand, and confirm it can join a virtual power plant (VPP), which the federal discount requires.
  • Backup: ask what keeps running in a blackout and whether backup costs extra.
  • Warranty: ask how the Soltaro warranty is registered, what capacity it guarantees, and who to call if something goes wrong.
  • The discount: the federal discount should be shown as its own line on the quote, so you can compare quotes fairly.

Questions about Soltaro batteries

Yes. 2 Soltaro battery models are currently on the Clean Energy Council approved list (data as at 23 Sept 2026). A battery must be on the list to qualify for the federal discount.
How much is the federal discount on a Soltaro battery?
It depends on the usable capacity and the installation date. For installations from 1 May 2026 to 31 Dec 2026, approved Soltaro batteries from 4.5 kWh to 9 kWh would get roughly $1,140 to $2,318 off, at a certificate price of $38. The battery rebate calculator works it out for your date and size.
Can you find me a Soltaro installer?
Tell us you'd like Soltaro and we'll pass that on to up to 3 participating installers in your area. Each installer confirms whether they can supply and install Soltaro, or suggests an alternative. We don't guarantee a particular brand, and you're under no obligation to go ahead.
What should a Soltaro battery quote include?
The exact battery model and usable capacity, the inverter it connects to (Soltaro also makes inverters, so check whether it's a Soltaro inverter or a compatible one from another brand), the federal discount shown as a separate line, backup or blackout options, the warranty terms, and the installer's Solar Accreditation Australia (SAA) accreditation number.
