Approval means a product meets the standards needed to be installed with government small-scale technology certificates (STCs). It isn't a recommendation, and Energy Quotes doesn't rank products. Check the manufacturer's datasheet and ask your installer before you buy.

Discounts are indicative: certificates for the usable capacity at the rate for today's date, at $38 each. Your installer's quote shows the actual amount. Work it out for your date and size.

Choosing a SolarEdge battery installer

  • Accreditation: the installer must be accredited by Solar Accreditation Australia (SAA) for batteries, or the battery won't qualify for the federal discount. Ask for their accreditation number.
  • The exact model: check the quoted SolarEdge model is on the approved list above, with its usable capacity in kWh.
  • The inverter: SolarEdge makes inverters too. Ask whether the battery is paired with a SolarEdge inverter or a compatible one from another brand, and confirm it can join a virtual power plant (VPP), which the federal discount requires.
  • Backup: ask what keeps running in a blackout and whether backup costs extra.
  • Warranty: ask how the SolarEdge warranty is registered, what capacity it guarantees, and who to call if something goes wrong.
  • The discount: the federal discount should be shown as its own line on the quote, so you can compare quotes fairly.

Can you find me a SolarEdge installer?
Tell us you'd like SolarEdge and we'll pass that on to up to 3 participating installers in your area. Each installer confirms whether they can supply and install SolarEdge, or suggests an alternative. We don't guarantee a particular brand, and you're under no obligation to go ahead.
What should a SolarEdge battery quote include?
The exact battery model and usable capacity, the inverter it connects to (SolarEdge also makes inverters, so check whether it's a SolarEdge inverter or a compatible one from another brand), the federal discount shown as a separate line, backup or blackout options, the warranty terms, and the installer's Solar Accreditation Australia (SAA) accreditation number.
