• Accreditation: the installer must be accredited by Solar Accreditation Australia (SAA) for batteries, or the battery won't qualify for the federal discount. Ask for their accreditation number.
• The exact model: check the quoted Enphase model is on the approved list above, with its usable capacity in kWh.
• The inverter: Enphase makes inverters too. Ask whether the battery is paired with a Enphase inverter or a compatible one from another brand, and confirm it can join a virtual power plant (VPP), which the federal discount requires.
• Backup: ask what keeps running in a blackout and whether backup costs extra.
• Warranty: ask how the Enphase warranty is registered, what capacity it guarantees, and who to call if something goes wrong.
• The discount: the federal discount should be shown as its own line on the quote, so you can compare quotes fairly.

Yes. 10 Enphase battery models are currently on the Clean Energy Council approved list (data as at 23 Sept 2026). A battery must be on the list to qualify for the federal discount.
