Approval means a product meets the standards needed to be installed with government small-scale technology certificates (STCs). It isn't a recommendation, and Energy Quotes doesn't rank products. Check the manufacturer's datasheet and ask your installer before you buy.

Discounts are indicative: certificates for the usable capacity at the rate for today's date, at $38 each. Your installer's quote shows the actual amount. Work it out for your date and size.

Choosing a Pytes battery installer

  • Accreditation: the installer must be accredited by Solar Accreditation Australia (SAA) for batteries, or the battery won't qualify for the federal discount. Ask for their accreditation number.
  • The exact model: check the quoted Pytes model is on the approved list above, with its usable capacity in kWh.
  • The inverter: ask which inverter the battery connects to, confirm it can join a virtual power plant (VPP), which the federal discount requires.
  • Backup: ask what keeps running in a blackout and whether backup costs extra.
  • Warranty: ask how the Pytes warranty is registered, what capacity it guarantees, and who to call if something goes wrong.
  • The discount: the federal discount should be shown as its own line on the quote, so you can compare quotes fairly.
