Can you find me a BYD installer?

Tell us you'd like BYD and we'll pass that on to up to 3 participating installers in your area. Each installer confirms whether they can supply and install BYD, or suggests an alternative. We don't guarantee a particular brand, and you're under no obligation to go ahead.

What should a BYD battery quote include?

The exact battery model and usable capacity, the inverter it connects to (BYD also makes inverters, so check whether it's a BYD inverter or a compatible one from another brand), the federal discount shown as a separate line, backup or blackout options, the warranty terms, and the installer's Solar Accreditation Australia (SAA) accreditation number.

Choosing a BYD battery installer

Accreditation: the installer must be accredited by Solar Accreditation Australia (SAA) for batteries, or the battery won't qualify for the federal discount. Ask for their accreditation number.
The exact model: check the quoted BYD model is on the approved list above, with its usable capacity in kWh.
The inverter: BYD makes inverters too. Ask whether the battery is paired with a BYD inverter or a compatible one from another brand, and confirm it can join a virtual power plant (VPP), which the federal discount requires.
Backup: ask what keeps running in a blackout and whether backup costs extra.
Warranty: ask how the BYD warranty is registered, what capacity it guarantees, and who to call if something goes wrong.
The discount: the federal discount should be shown as its own line on the quote, so you can compare quotes fairly.
